The <strong>Bowie Odyss\u00e9e<\/strong> had, in a slightly different version, already been presented in <strong>Saint-\u00c9tienne<\/strong> in the fall of 2018, inside the <strong>Cit\u00e9 du Design<\/strong> site. Already successful at that, as part of the fortieth edition of the <strong>Rhino Jazz Festival<\/strong>, since 4,000 people visited it in only 14 days. In summary, more than a thousand of ultra rare <strong>pieces<\/strong> are luckily exhibited, all coming from private <strong>collections<\/strong>. Then, the visitor may be amazed by the mass of <strong>vinyls<\/strong> coming from all over the world, sometimes with mind-blowing <strong>covers<\/strong>, thanks to particularly the loan from <strong>Yves Gardes<\/strong>. For your information, this passionate is much into <strong>45 rpm<\/strong> records; a small format which had once very often large <strong>visuals<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Thereafter, you would be immersed in the huge collection of <strong>Jean-Charles Gautier<\/strong> which occupy the rest of this <strong>exhibition hall<\/strong>, displaying its incredible personal <strong>collection<\/strong> that is one of the richest in the world about <strong>David Bowie<\/strong>&#8216;s fan items, if not the richest. Mostly composed of unique and sometimes confusing original <strong>masterpieces<\/strong>, like his <strong>birth certificate<\/strong>, edited on January 8th, 1947, within his native name of <strong>David Robert Jones<\/strong>. This invaluable document is a genuine example of the different things that this <strong>enthusiast<\/strong>, who discovered <strong>David Bowie<\/strong> at the time of <strong>Space Oddity<\/strong>, chose to share to exhibit. In order to built his quest of rare objects, the <strong>collector<\/strong> notably maintained a network of correspondents throughout the World. Long before the <strong>recycling<\/strong> concept, those items were <strong>upcycled<\/strong> in a new life, otherwise they would have been unfortunately thrown away after use. For instance, among the atypical <strong>rarities<\/strong> presented at the <strong>exhibition<\/strong>, you would find for example advertising belt <strong>buckles<\/strong> and original press <strong>photos<\/strong> announcing a special event, such as a <strong>tour<\/strong>, a <strong>record<\/strong> or a <strong>film release<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Nonetheless, passing by <strong>press kits<\/strong> and first authenticated <strong>songbooks<\/strong> from the 1960s, until <strong>promotional<\/strong> material for more recent <strong>albums<\/strong> or <strong>films<\/strong>, the <strong>David Bowie<\/strong> timeline has been respected according to the personal wished of the main contributor of this presentation, <strong>Jean-Charles Gautier<\/strong>. Before becoming a music-hall in 1921, notably featuring different dancing reviews, including the <strong>Dolly Sisters<\/strong> in the midst of increasingly sumptuous sets, along many concerts of popular <strong>French<\/strong> singers of that time, such as&nbsp;<strong>Maurice Chevalier<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Then, after a long period of abandon, and with a wish to pursue this <strong>show business<\/strong>, the event planner <strong>Fabrice Emaer<\/strong> acquired the <strong>Palace<\/strong> and renovated it into a trendy <strong>night club<\/strong>. Apart from its numerous crazy <strong>parties<\/strong>, the place, essentially inspired by the <strong>Studio 54<\/strong> in <strong>New York<\/strong>, an average of one hundred <strong>concerts<\/strong> were organized every year, highlighting many upcoming singers, like <strong>Prince<\/strong> or <strong>Grace Jones<\/strong>. By the way, this illustrious <strong>James Bond<\/strong> girl performed her cover of <strong>La Vie en Rose<\/strong> at the opening show of <strong>Le Palace<\/strong> on March 1, 1978.
