Pursuing our journey outside Cognac, you would get the privilege now to dive into some different Cognac houses. Still connected with La Charente river, which allowed the wine trade of this region from the Middle Ages, although it was only from the end of the 19th century, under the reign of Napoleon III, that the development of Cognac took off, particularly with England. After the phylloxera crisis which marked the beginning of the 20th century, Cognac became the French brandy of which more than 90% is exported, while becoming a rare product of excellence, a symbol of a ceratin French lifestyle. <\/b><\/span><\/p>\n
