Indeed, this active <strong>structure<\/strong> proposes passionate and skillful <strong>guides<\/strong>, dedicated to share their knowledge among different worthy <strong>facets<\/strong> of the area.<\/p>\n<p>For instance, our <strong>city tour<\/strong> was managed by the captivating <strong>cultural mediator<\/strong>, we learned a lot about the rich destiny shared of this <strong>locality<\/strong>, situated at the far end before the <strong>Italian<\/strong> border, shared between the <strong>French<\/strong> and <strong>Monegasque<\/strong> properties. Completed in 2005 by the donation offered by <strong>Severin Wunderman<\/strong>, you may admire no less than 2000 artworks.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Born from the wish of the former mayor of <strong>Menton<\/strong>, <strong>Francis Palmero<\/strong> who proposed to <strong>Jean Cocteau<\/strong> to restore this <strong>Bastion<\/strong> at his image, constituting a real <strong>showcase<\/strong> retracing the different styles of this acclaimed and multifaceted <strong>artist<\/strong>. For example, he realized in 1961 a&nbsp;large <strong>mosaic<\/strong> representing a <strong>lizard<\/strong> and pursued in 1962, with the execution of the other <strong>pebble mosaics<\/strong> visible on the facade, the ground floor and the eleven <strong>loopholes<\/strong> on the second floor.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cI have completed the large pebble mosaic of the bastion of <strong>Menton<\/strong>. Then, this <strong>museum<\/strong> would have finally opened its doors in 1966, with the presence of <strong>Andr\u00e9 Maurois<\/strong> from the <strong>Acad\u00e9mie Fran\u00e7aise<\/strong>, <strong>Francine Weisweiller<\/strong> and of course <strong>\u00c9douard Dermit<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>For your information, the original <strong>collection<\/strong> consists of 102 <strong>artworks<\/strong>, including 70 <strong>drawings<\/strong>, 2 <strong>paintings<\/strong>, 3 <strong>lithographs<\/strong>, 2 <strong>tapestries<\/strong>, 11 <strong>potteries<\/strong> still made by <strong>Jean Cocteau<\/strong>. Built in 1874, this <strong>palace<\/strong> has always been hosting a wealthy <em><strong>clientele<\/strong><\/em> before housing owners, in <strong>apartments<\/strong>, attached to highlighting this <strong>heritage<\/strong>.&nbsp;Don&#8217;t also miss the <strong>Riviera Hotel<\/strong> as one of the most monumental of <strong>palaces<\/strong> in <strong>Menton<\/strong>.
