Founded in 1985 by Jean-Fran\u00e7ois Roudillon, the Galerie LOFT is located in the heart of Saint-Germain-des-Pr\u00e9s and is a beautiful art gallery to discover at any time of the year. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Indeed, s<\/strong>ince its inauguration, this art space has always been committed to introduce talented contemporary artists from all over the World, and therefore highlighting their different specialities put in artworks but also featured in limited-edition miniatures. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Therefore, the gallery has been paying many efforts to develop its own concept to make Art more accessible than ever. With the launching of the Art For All collection, you could appreciate and acquire your own plastic art lithography.<\/strong> By Alexis Lery<\/em><\/p>\n

If you have look back in time, you would undoubtedly admire the wide selection of generations<\/strong> of inventive artists<\/strong> being exhibited between the walls of this cosy Galerie LOFT<\/strong><\/a>. Therefore, the list is long but we could notably mention the Argentinian<\/strong> artist Fernando Canovas<\/strong> or the artists of Narrative Figuration<\/strong>: such as Err\u00f3<\/strong> (from 1985), Klasen<\/strong> or even Monory<\/strong>, Rancillac<\/strong> and Fromanger<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

This structure also participates in the dissemination of uprising contemporary<\/strong> artistic movements, such as Street Art<\/strong> and graffiti<\/strong>. In this case, this young movement<\/strong> has been here represented for the first time in a gallery<\/strong>, through the colorful artworks of Baugeste<\/strong>, Blek Le Rat<\/strong>, Baugeste<\/strong>, Kriki<\/strong> or J\u00e9r\u00f4me Mesnager <\/strong>(by Alexis Lery).<\/div>\n

Adding to this, the Galerie LOFT<\/strong> has paid many efforts to showcase a magnificent variety of Chinese<\/strong> contemporary artists. Thus, the gallery<\/strong> has been organizing since 1999, a couple of monographic<\/strong> preview exhibitions<\/strong>, concentrated on a bunch of protagonists, such as: Liu Xiaodong<\/strong> (2001\/2005), Liu Wei<\/strong> (2001\/2002\/2005), Wang Guangyi<\/strong> (2004), Sui Jianguo<\/strong> (2000), Yang Shaobin<\/strong> (2001), Wang Qingsong<\/strong> (2002) or Zhan Wang<\/strong> (2000).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Keeping in this Asian<\/strong> direction, Jean-Fran\u00e7ois Roudillon<\/strong> naturally directed in 2002, the \u201cParis-Beijing\u201d<\/strong> collaborative project, standing at the Espace Pierre Cardin<\/strong>. This event<\/strong> was considered as the first large-scale exhibition<\/strong> in France<\/strong> with the presence of contemporary Chinese<\/strong> artists.<\/div>\n

Based on this statement, we couldn’t miss to admit that this gallery<\/strong> is also particularly active internationally, through the organization of several exhibitions<\/strong> and as well some random artworks<\/strong> loans in and around. This could be illustrated by specific partnerships with institutions<\/strong> and foundations<\/strong> (such as Oriente Fundation Macau<\/strong>, FAAP Brazil<\/strong>) and the participation in major events<\/strong>, again essentially devoted to contemporary Chinese<\/strong> art, such as the Biennials<\/strong> of Shanghai<\/strong>, Beijing<\/strong>, Guangzhou<\/strong>, among many other ones.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

On top of that, a new exhibition<\/strong> is being held in the two antennas of the gallery<\/strong>. Inaugurated last December 2021 and baptized “Art For All”<\/em><\/strong>, this manifestation is the occasion to present different personalities of artists<\/strong> in two sizes.<\/div>\n

Indeed, the Galerie LOFT<\/strong> has been developing since a couple of years, a personal concept of art democratization<\/strong>. This was made possible by the miniaturization of authentic masterpieces<\/strong> which are visible here at the gallery<\/strong>, during the exhibition<\/strong>. Logically named “Art for All”<\/strong>, this avant-garde<\/em> approach for an art gallery<\/strong>, is a real hand in hand collaboration with the artist<\/strong> or his heirs<\/strong>, in terms of supervision and of course approval of any reproduction<\/strong>. It seems that this desire to democratize Modern Art<\/strong> has already been claimed by several artists<\/strong>, including Keith Haring<\/strong>. His Pop Art<\/strong> was particularly criticized at the time by players in the regular art market<\/strong>, who criticized any form of art<\/strong> outreach, especially in an advertising<\/strong> way. However, in response to these unfaithful attacks, the artist<\/strong> simply replies that “Art is made for everybody”<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Among the artworks<\/strong> selected, you may find the red and white medical capsules<\/strong> known as Effets Secondaires<\/em><\/strong> by Philippe Huart<\/strong>, the Fauteuil Mol\u00e9cul\u2019Air<\/strong><\/em> by Bernard Quentin<\/strong>, the consumer society<\/strong> references reviewed by the Chinese<\/strong> sculptor Li LIHONG<\/strong>, or L’Epicurienne<\/strong><\/em> sculpture replica of Philippe Hiquily<\/strong>, the Angel Bear<\/strong><\/em> by Richard TEXIER<\/strong>, the NICE<\/strong><\/em> sculpture of Claude GILLI<\/strong>, the Lao Tseu Tribute<\/strong><\/em> by Francesco Marino Di Teana<\/strong> or even Le Dieu Noir<\/strong><\/em> by Philippe Druillet<\/strong>.<\/div>\n
