Established on several <strong>levels<\/strong>, thus representing several <strong>exhibition spaces<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Built in 1949, the large <strong>edifice<\/strong> on the left, also known as <strong>AP2<\/strong> for former &#8220;Prefabrication <strong>Workshop<\/strong> No. 2&#8243;, used to be a <strong>factory<\/strong> for <strong>Dunkirk<\/strong> shipyards. This is naturally a real place of <strong>memory<\/strong> and a geographical <strong>landmark<\/strong> that has deeply marked the local <strong>industrial<\/strong> history and aims to continue to play a role nowadays. Therefore, the <strong>FRAC Grand Large <\/strong>has duplicated this <strong>hall<\/strong> as \u201cthe <strong>Cathedral<\/strong>\u201d, this <strong>edifice<\/strong> imposes itself with its 75m long silhouette on the <strong>Dunkirk<\/strong> coast. By the way, don&#8217;t miss the <strong>Belvedere<\/strong> area, located at the top floor, where is exhibited a magnificent suspended <strong>metallic laundry<\/strong> artwork realized by <strong>Ana Lupas<\/strong>, nearby some <strong>movies<\/strong> played in dark rooms. Among them, two <strong>documentaries<\/strong> about <strong>auction<\/strong> sessions and life moments in <strong>Le Corbusier<\/strong>&#8216;s city in <strong>Chandigarh<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>At the first level, we thus find two <strong>exhibitions<\/strong> in April 2022, including the one imagined by <strong>Bruno Serralongue<\/strong>, focusing on the <strong>migrant<\/strong> camps of <strong>Calais<\/strong>. This <strong>exhibition<\/strong> highlights a period of crisis and loss of moral, social and aesthetic <strong>landmarks<\/strong>. It is divided into three parts, comprising sets of very different <strong>objects<\/strong>, assembled in a narrative way by the <strong>exhibition<\/strong> curator. It turns out that some <strong>pieces<\/strong>, like these <em><strong>Tupperwares<\/strong><\/em>, are even assembled in this <strong>Northern<\/strong> region.<\/p>\n<p>Another part of this <strong>art installation<\/strong> is devoted to our relationship to <strong>mass consumption<\/strong> around <strong>kitchen<\/strong> <strong>utensils<\/strong> from different eras. This <strong>graphic study<\/strong> is carried out by <strong>Nicolas Floc&#8217;h<\/strong>, also passionate about creation around <strong>monochrome<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>This <strong>artist<\/strong>&nbsp;aims to capture these <strong>water colors<\/strong> in the <strong>Baie de Somme<\/strong> but also in various <strong>oceans<\/strong>, interior <strong>seas<\/strong> and <strong>rivers<\/strong>, including lately presently the <strong>Mississippi<\/strong> and the <strong>Rhone<\/strong> rivers. <strong>Nicolas Floc&#8217;h<\/strong> admits that he wants to transform <em>&#8220;the invisible visible&#8221;<\/em> and thus help to study threatened <strong>ecosystems<\/strong>. A <strong>sedimentation<\/strong>, carried out over several million years, which contributed to the <strong>oil<\/strong> formation and also to that of <strong>limestone<\/strong> rocks including the famous <strong>blue<\/strong> stones of <strong>Hainaut<\/strong>. This <strong>museum<\/strong> was born from the donation of <strong>Gilbert Delaine<\/strong>, and notably his <strong>art collection <\/strong>of more than a thousand of <strong>masterpieces<\/strong>, mainly from the 1960s and 1970s, which he donated to the <strong>municipality<\/strong>, in 1981.&nbsp; This <strong>edifice<\/strong> was conceived by <strong>Jean Willerval<\/strong> before being inaugurated in 1982 and which therefore celebrates its 40th <strong>anniversary<\/strong> in 2022.
