This wine enthusiast developed early in age his proper taste for vineyards and even transmitted his passion to his children, Anne and Jean-Christophe, as well as to their respective spouses.<\/strong><\/div>\n

Hereby, you are invited to discover their different cuv\u00e9es, mainly composed from Pinot Noir since the domain is located in the C\u00f4te des Bar (read article here<\/a>). This famous motto<\/strong> easily adapts to those champagnes<\/strong>!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

This time, we focus on a recent family affair embodied by the Champagne Gremillet<\/strong><\/a>, created by Jean-Michel Gremillet<\/strong> in 1979. Located in Balnot-sur-Laignes<\/strong>, a village in the heart of the unique terroir<\/em> of the C\u00f4te des Bar<\/strong> in Aube<\/strong>. This adventure started with the first vineyards<\/strong> from his mother Lulu<\/strong> who then bequeathed him his first plot<\/strong>, that covers now 48 ha, adjoining some famous Riceys<\/strong> lands where the Pinot Noir<\/strong> grape variety is present in majority and moreover delicately harvested by hand. Before being slowly pressed, whose only the first juices<\/strong> would ensure a better aging and as far as we know, the best part would take part of the composition of the various champagnes<\/strong>. For your information, the usual measure in Champagne<\/strong> is the marc<\/strong><\/em>, and 1 unit corresponds to 4000 kg of grapes<\/strong>, so to say 2550 L of juice <\/strong>(photo credits: Gremillet). <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

This long-winded champagne house<\/strong> nowadays produces around 500,000 bottles per year, spread between wine shops<\/strong>, restaurants<\/strong> and also naturally a loyal clientele<\/em><\/strong>, while the other half part is intended to be exported<\/strong> towards 50 destinations.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Thus, an international notoriety<\/strong> has been built, since many of their cuv\u00e9es<\/em><\/strong> were rewarded by a bunch of renowned wine<\/strong> competitions (Decanter<\/strong>, Sparkling World<\/strong>, Guide Hachette des Vins<\/strong>, IWSC<\/strong>…), along being selected each year by many embassies<\/strong> and consulates<\/strong>, present all around the world and seduced by the wide choice of these premium sparkling<\/strong> wines.
