Back to the depths of the Atlantic Ocean<\/strong>!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Still located in the West Coast<\/strong>, we had the chance to discover their iodized Gin<\/strong>, told in the previous article<\/strong>, the Distillerie du Golfe<\/strong><\/a>, situated in Plougoumelen<\/strong>, comes back to you again. This time, our sailors Henri<\/strong> and Bertrand<\/strong> introduce you their EOR Vodka<\/strong><\/a>, pursuing this marine<\/strong> touch from Brittany<\/strong> expressed in spirits<\/strong>, since July 2016 <\/strong>(photo credits: Jean-Marie Liot<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Another project for this inventive team, to implement this uprising range of original spirits<\/strong>, filled with the salty<\/strong> savors from the Atlantic Ocean<\/strong>, still matured in their Stupfler<\/strong> copper alambics<\/em><\/strong>, heated with an open flame. Loyal to their Breton<\/strong> culture, the two associates imagined their EOR Vodka<\/strong><\/a>, built through a slow maceration<\/strong> of two native<\/strong> contents. Indeed, French<\/strong> buckwheat<\/strong> (like the typical galettes<\/em>) has been mixed with local and fresh samphire<\/strong>, this wedding generates an alloy of hazelnut<\/strong> and iodized<\/strong> flavors. <\/p>\n

Indeed, this species, native<\/strong> from the Tongyi<\/strong> river valley, in the Southern China<\/strong>, has been spread globally, passing from the Far East<\/strong>, mainly Korea<\/strong> and Japan<\/strong>, to finally reach Europe<\/strong> in the fourteenth century. Formerly very cultivated<\/strong> in regions with poor soils<\/strong>, such as the Mongolian<\/strong> steppes, and in the acid lands<\/strong> of France<\/strong>, especially in the regions of Auvergne<\/strong>, Brittany<\/strong>, Limousin<\/strong>, Normandy<\/strong>, Pyr\u00e9n\u00e9es <\/strong>and Rouergue<\/strong>… Those days and due to several reasons, buckwheat<\/strong> is unfortunately an endangered plant<\/strong> in France<\/strong> and it is mainly imported from Lithuania<\/strong> and China<\/strong>, unless it remains still very popular for its huge use in cr\u00eapes<\/em><\/strong> (pancakes).<\/p>\n

This ambitious spirituous project<\/strong> gave birth to their first baby boat, this homemade H2B Gin<\/strong><\/a>, after two years of development and research<\/strong>. The initial objective was to create a range of fine spirits<\/strong> inspired with the surrounding local maritime<\/strong> identity and thus, mostly inspired by iodine<\/strong>. A sweet ingredient boosted by the benefits<\/strong>, mostly emanating from marine life<\/strong>. This original production was made possible thanks to a specific process<\/strong>, starting from a committed distillation<\/strong>, offering qualitative and singular spirits<\/strong>.
