Pursuing our series about niche perfumes<\/a>, we focus here on another alternative perfumer, founded in the 70s, baptized L’Artisan Parfumeur<\/a>. More than ever, the craftsman spirit of L’Artisan Parfumeur<\/a> tends to reach the preliminary inspirations of the founder Jean-Fran\u00e7ois Laporte, who created this alternative perfumery house in 1976… In fact, the new Couleur Vanille<\/em> fragrance, planned for March 2020, wholeheartedly illustrated the colorful nature of the first essences imagined by this visionary perfumer, who changed the codes of the sector, back in the time when the epoch was dominated by big traditional Maisons<\/em>. \"\"\"\"At the origin, the founder Jean Laporte<\/strong>, issued of a skilled perfumers<\/strong>‘ family with more than 100 years<\/strong> of expertise, opened his first boutique<\/strong> in 1979<\/strong>, on Rue de Grenelle<\/strong><\/em> in Paris<\/strong>. Although operating as an independent perfumer<\/strong>, pretty rare at the time, his perfumery<\/strong> flourished and quickly spread across Europe<\/strong>, where its fragrances<\/strong> seduced many noses. <\/p>\n

Thus he experimented and created original scents<\/strong> with natural<\/strong> essences. Indeed, thanks to the success<\/strong> of his first line of fragrances<\/strong>, Jean Laporte<\/strong> found the final name L\u2019Artisan Parfumeur<\/strong>, referring to the craftsman of perfumes<\/strong>, so-called by many fragrances<\/strong> enthusiasts.<\/p>\n

As fas as we know, L\u2019Artisan Parfumeur<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s classic perfumes<\/strong> kept their same spirit throughout its 40 years<\/strong> history. A certain adhesion<\/strong> proof from the customers to those creations<\/strong>, since those fragrances<\/strong> seem to answer to the needs and the trends of the olfactory<\/strong> market.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

By the way, this was quickly followed by grapefruit<\/strong> and vanilla<\/strong> fragrances.<\/p>\n

Rich, earthy and sensual, the woody<\/strong> family invites you on a journey full of bewitching and unexpected scents<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

For instance, the perfume house <\/strong>created Passage d’Enfer<\/strong><\/a><\/em> to pay homage to those cobbled Paris<\/strong> streets (where L\u2019Artisan Parfumeur<\/strong><\/a> had its headquarters during the 1970s<\/strong>) with some lily<\/strong> and white musk<\/strong> moods for the transition to the year 2000<\/strong>, thanks to the brilliant work of the French<\/strong> perfumer Olivia Giacobetti<\/strong><\/a>. <\/p>\n

Indeed, inspired by the diversity of French<\/strong> regions, Les Paysages<\/strong><\/a><\/em> collection, launched in 2016<\/strong>, covers their singular personalities<\/strong>, through their most iconic scents<\/strong>.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

\"\"\"\"Providing a new exotic<\/strong> breath to this Classic Collection<\/strong><\/em>, the perfumer Ali\u00e9nor Massenet<\/strong><\/a> accomplished to resurrect one of the initial inspirations of the founder Jean Laporte<\/strong>, notably in terms of faraway odours <\/strong>(photo credits : Mollie Bosworth<\/strong><\/a>). <\/p>\n

As a matter of fact, mostly based on the vanilla<\/strong> scent, the brand new Couleur Vanille<\/strong><\/em> fragrance, soon available from the March 1st 2020<\/strong> as a spring surprise<\/strong>, would take you somewhere to the Tropics<\/strong> and even beyond… <\/p>\n

“The images<\/strong> were just beginning to take shape and I felt a vanilla<\/strong> pod, simply dressed in bergamot<\/strong>, immortal<\/strong> flower, benzoin<\/strong> and tolu<\/strong> balm, on which would pass a salty<\/strong> and iodized<\/strong> breeze, light as a caress.<\/em> The whole story<\/strong> was already there… ” <\/em>admits the creator Ali\u00e9nor Massenet.<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\"\"\"\"<\/em>From that point of view, L’Artisan Parfumeur<\/strong><\/a> succeeded to reconstitute a place<\/strong>, within this Eau de Parfum<\/strong><\/em>, where the weather<\/strong> is constantly cool and the Sun<\/strong> is shining. This ensemble<\/strong><\/em> is refreshed by gourmet head notes<\/strong>, composed of freesia<\/strong>, bergamot<\/strong> and salt flower<\/strong>, and balanced with cashmere wood<\/strong>, benzoin<\/strong> and tolu balm<\/strong>, an extract from a small tree<\/strong>, usually cultivated for its antiseptic<\/strong> and expectorant<\/strong> virtues.<\/p>\n

This olfactory<\/strong> vegetal species is a national pride<\/strong> there, among a range of 3000 other varieties<\/strong>, identify as one of the oldest ecosystems<\/strong> in the entire world<\/strong>.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\"\"What makes this essence<\/strong> so precious, depends on its flower<\/strong> traditionally fertilized by human hands<\/strong>, in order to give birth to these miraculous green pods<\/strong> that we lock up for several weeks to make them sweat<\/strong> and brown<\/strong> (photo credits: PetalSalad Art<\/strong><\/a>).<\/p>\n

This miracle<\/strong> takes place in the northeast<\/strong> region of the island<\/strong> where has been developed a fair trade<\/strong> program allowing 4000 farmers make a living from their culture<\/strong> and educate<\/strong> their children.
\nAfter those jewels<\/strong> being checked by hand over fifty times, this brown pod<\/strong> concentrates then the delicious nectar that the perfumer covets, consequently a kaleidoscope<\/strong><\/em> made of woody, spicy, leathery and smoky aromas<\/strong>. A pioneering mix, wearing the vanilla<\/strong> color, still preserved in the emblematic smoked flask<\/strong>, worth to try once in a lifetime!<\/p>\n
