Like the Comit\u00e9 Montaigne<\/a>, an association promoting the shopping and cultural life of the famous Parisian Montaigne Avenue, the Comit\u00e9 George V<\/a> has the same proud goal, completed with many initiatives like the late Laurence Jenkell<\/a>‘s “National Sweets” urban exhibition. Created on the occasion of this Avenue\u2019s centenary, a period spent creating luxury and elegance in the French style. Willing to perpetuate the tradition of excellence that has made Avenue George-V one of the world\u2019s most prestigious addresses, since the July 14th, 1918 when the city of Paris switched the name of the former Avenue de l\u2019Alma to Avenue George-V, as a tribute of thanks to the British and King George V, for their participation in the Great War. Nowadays, surrounded by many hospitality institutions which lately celebrated their birthdays<\/a>, like the Fouquet’s<\/a> and the Prince de Galles Hotel<\/a>, this George-V Avenue is still part of the few avenues in Paris, where the luxury brands still wish to open their Flagship Stores, those are here some last openings.<\/strong> By Alexis Lery<\/em><\/p>\n

\"\"\"\"One year after the legendary French<\/strong> brand Carven<\/strong><\/a> acquisition<\/span>, the Chinese<\/strong> fashion<\/span> player Icicle<\/strong><\/a> chose a historical and typical Parisian mansion<\/strong>, <\/span>built in 1894<\/strong>, located in the George-V Avenue<\/strong><\/span>, to open the brand\u2019s first Flagship Store<\/strong>, <\/span>outside the Chinese<\/strong> territory (photo credits: Alexis Lery).<\/span><\/p>\n

This Icicle<\/strong><\/a> boutique is composed of 4 levels, among them, three floors dedicated to the clothes<\/strong> collections and also a cultural <\/strong><\/span>space<\/strong>, sheltering a bookstore<\/strong> <\/span>and an art gallery<\/strong>. For instance, this is where was lately exposed the artworks of the Chinese<\/strong> artist Yang Jinsong<\/strong>, through his exhibition<\/strong> untitled “All about trees<\/strong>“, curated by Pia Camilla Copper<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

A unique place, where Chinese<\/strong> and French<\/strong> culture may inspire and nourish each other of us, where texts play with images and where classics<\/strong> debate with modern scriptures<\/strong><\/span>. You would notice that from its conception to its unique experience, this Icicle<\/strong><\/a> entity <\/span>embodies every value and aesthetic of quality pr\u00eat-\u00e0-porter<\/em><\/strong>, in the so-called Parisian<\/strong> capital of fashion<\/span>. A collection<\/strong>, depending on the seasons<\/strong>, mostly made of fine cashmere<\/strong> pieces (from scarves to aircoats) or heavy silk<\/strong> to find in their light suits… In an other way, it could also be considered as a haven to live in according to nature<\/strong>, since the place has been conceived following a sustainable<\/strong> path, respecting<\/span> the Earth<\/strong> vibes, due to the many visible natural elements in their furniture<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

ngg_shortcode_0_placeholder\"\"\"\"On top of that, and according to the Belgian<\/strong> architect Bernard Dubois<\/strong><\/span>, this place was designed in the following way<\/strong>: \u00ab The interior design <\/em><\/span>makes extensive use of solid, natural materials, while keeping a certain eco-awareness <\/span>and durability <\/span><\/em>in mind.<\/em> \u00bb That’s why, once inside the three levels, you would admire pure white hues<\/strong>, rich earth tones<\/strong> and wood shades<\/strong>, conveyed by organic<\/strong> <\/span>materials of highest quality. <\/span><\/p>\n

The architectural lines, intertwining Chinese<\/strong> <\/span>and European<\/strong> <\/span>traditions in a play of similarities and differences. A unique alliance that resonates through a minimalistic<\/strong> <\/span>design, really reflecting the motto of the fashion house, “Made In Earth<\/strong>“.
