Take a step back in time with this dining hall..

Located directly opposite the legendary and multi-faceted Cité de la Musique, in the heart of Parc de la Villette, the Hôtel & Restaurant Au Bœuf Couronné embodies a Paris that is both modern and deeply rooted in its history.

Situated in the cosmopolitan 19th district, this address, better known as one of the oldest local brasserie in the neighborhood, stands out through its subtle blend of traditional gastronomy, stylish hotel comfort, and the vibrant atmosphere of a changing neighborhood. By AP

Born during the era of the La Villette slaughterhouses under the Second Empire, this centenary establishment has lived through decades of urban transformation, while remaining faithful to its meat-centered identity.

Since being acquired by the Groupe Joulie, renowned for its chic and mostly traditional Parisian brasseries, this present venue has been reinvented. Therefore, guests can now enjoy a spacious brasserie-style dining room with 150 seats, alongside a 3-star hotel, open in 2017, designed by Fabrice Ausset (photo credits: AP).

This hospitality property offers a contemporary atmosphere, built around wood, leather, and marble accents. The result is a lively destination, where the nearby hotel and restaurant experiences complement one another, from generous breakfasts to terrace dinners.

In another hand, and hidden at the back side, a secret patio terrace provides a peaceful green escape, especially from the city’s bustle. Perfect for a sunny lunch or a late dinner after a concert at the closeby Philharmonie de Paris.

Back at the Au Boeuf Couronné restaurant, in the heart of the menu, we can admit that meat remains king, with a large choice of tartares, steaks, ribeye cuts, XXL beef ribs… Without forgetting all the other butcher specialties, taking center stage, alongside a refined selection of fish and seafood dishes, dedicated to non-meat lovers.

In the meantime, you could as well get tempted by illustrious French classics, like Oeuf Parfait, ravioles, and for the sweet part, Baba Au Rhum, or the mythical flambéed crêpe Suzette, just in front of you.

Apart from this, structured menus are also proposed, such as Club Affaires”, “Express”, and Petits Gastronomes” reflect the restaurant’s desire to equally appeal to tourists, busy Parisians, and even families. All of those alternatives may be paired with a carefully curated wine list, featuring selections from the Loire Valley, Burgundy, Languedoc, and Bordeaux, as well as a wide range of wines by the glass. For lovers of authentic Parisian brasseries, we could easily say that Au Bœuf Couronné stands out as a truly French neighborhood institution, standing for lively, accessible, and faithful to a timeless vision of Parisian hospitality, flavorful, generous, and proudly rooted in tradition.
