ABK6 Cognac celebrates the Year of the Snake in 2025, with an exceptional limited edition
With its 460 hectares of vineyards, Francis Abécassis is one of the largest independent producers in the Cognac appellation. Its ideally located estates allow for fully controlled production. This integrated management model guarantees that each cognac fully expresses the specificities of its terroir and makes it possible to adapt the production methods of each cognac. This year again, a new tribute to Chinese tradition has been paid with a new limited-edition, dedicated to the Year of the Snake. By AP
The Domaines Francis Abécassis bring together a remarkable selection of vineyards. Among their flagship brands, you could count on ABK6, Leyrat, Réviseur, and Grands Domaines. Created in 2005, the ABK6 brand (as a contraction of the original Abécassis name) reflects the alliance of modernity and a rich family heritage. As for Leyrat cognacs, they have been distinguished for almost a century by the elegance of their eaux-de-vie from Fins Bois, where freshness and finesse are preserved during aging, while Réviseur, for its part, offers intense and rich cognacs from Petite Champagne, which fully honor the traditions of their terroir.
For the second consecutive year, ABK6 Cognac is launching in 2025 an exclusive cuvée in homage to the upcoming Chinese New Year, celebrating here the Year of the Snake. Therefore, Francis Abécassis and his Cellar Master named Frédéric David have selected some exceptional eaux-de-vie, aged in the oldest barrels on the estate. This unique cuvée is distinguished by its gourmet aromas, combining spices, but also some Tarte Tatin touch, gingerbread and almond paste. It seduces with its roundness in the mouth and a perfect balance between freshness and intensity. This limited edition embodies both maturity and commitment to this exchange (photo credits: ABK6).
The bottle, designed in collaboration with Chinese artists Qiaolong Huang and Bingna Xu, extends the spirit of the previous 2024 edition under the Sign of the Dragon. Here, an engraved snake intertwines among vine leaves, symbolizing the fusion between the tradition of Cognac and Chinese culture. Its red, green and yellow colors enrich its symbolic design, since red evokes luck and prosperity, green recalls the vines of this terroir, and yellow symbolizes wealth and ancestral know-how. Under its aged golden dress, don’t miss its tasting notes of rich and spicy aromas, cinnamon. This ensemble offers a subtle balance between freshness and indulgence, with additional notes of gingerbread and almond paste.
