The Château Beaulieu, a jewel of the Côtes-de-Bourg appellation, nearby the Bordeaux wine-growing regions, brings together excellence, tradition, and organic viticulture under the guidance of Vincent Rouaix since 2021.

This exceptional estate, located on the right bank of the Dordogne river, on clay-limestone hillsides ideal for vines, stands out for its artisanal and respectful approach, blending centuries-old heritage with sustainable innovation. We are glad to introduce you their new range of wines, highlighting for some of them amphorae aging. By AP

The 17-hectare vineyard thrives on a rich and multifaceted terroir, giving birth to wines with unique aromatic profiles. The meticulous work in organic farming, led by Vincent Rouaix and Victor Ribeiro, the estate’s director, ensures superior-quality grapes that reflect a preserved natural environment (photo credits: Château Beaulieu).

Furthermore, the Château Beaulieu also shows some proven ecological commitment, notably by innovating with the installation of beehives within the vineyard, promoting biodiversity, pollination, and grape quality. This environmental initiative contributes to the production of a rare, carefully harvested honey, complementing the estate’s authentic terroir expression.

Thus, the Château Beaulieu offers a range of characterful biodynamic wines, admired for their finesse and authenticity, as true reflections of an exceptional terroir and an uncompromising passion for this wide vine culture.

Rooted in a history, dating back to the 18th century, the estate combines architectural heritage with traditional know-how. The blond-stone chartreuse, at the heart of the vineyard, symbolizes this tradition. Therefore, the Château Beaulieu, certified organic and High Environmental Value (HVE), is also a 5-star guest destination, offering charming accommodation, modern amenities, and an exceptional setting for a complete wine experience.

We start this wine tour, with L’Élan reference, vintage 2022, this full Cabernet Franc comes from historic plots with full southern exposure, expressing an exceptional terroir. The hand-harvested grapes ferment and aged in amphorae for 20 months to preserve some true purity and authenticity.

The nose combines a series of redcurrant, blackberry, blackcurrant, and peppery notes, enhanced by a rich and smooth palate, revealing supple tannins, with spices and fresh blackcurrant. This organic red wine somehow embodies the deep expression of the Côtes-de-Bourg terroir.

Then, discover the precise blend of Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc, and Sauvignon Gris grapes with 1868, vintage 2023. This white cuvée draws from grapes with varied exposures, giving each variety the expression from its optimal environment, settled in clay-local soil.

After a separate vinification, this juice undergoes a 8-month aging in barrel, thanks to controlled microoxygenation that brings complexity and finesse. The wine unveils an intense bouquet of white flowers, citrus, and subtle woody notes (as vanilla, but also toasted), offering a generous palate, balanced between freshness and roundness, with a long, promising finish.

Just before turning into La Brume de Beaulieu, this rosé wine which is also able to express finesse and freshness, through a blend of Cabernet Franc and Merlot. The grapes grow on a clay-limestone soil enriched with gravel, harvested at optimal ripeness.

Apart from this, its direct pressing preserves the delicate pale pink color and the aromatic richness of its emanating vibrant fresh red fruits. Its gourmet profile, both round and fresh, unfolds into a long and seductive finish.

Without forgetting the Vitis Amphore item, vintage 2020, this 100% Malbec wine is vinified and as well aged in amphorae for 24 months, an ancestral method that respects grape purity and develops remarkable complexity.

This elegant wine displays a deep, bright color, a spicy bouquet with pepper and violet nuances, and a structured, long, and balanced palate, an authentic expression of its clay-limestone terroir.
